28/2/2010-The president’s press office issued a statement that President Michel Sleiman finalized the formation of the committee for national dialogue.

According to the statement, the committee members include Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Saad Hariri, former President Amine Gemayel, Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun, Former Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora, Deputy Speaker MP Farid Makari, Defense Minister Elias al-Murr, Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt, Head of Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Mohammad Raad, Marada Movement leader MP Sleiman Franjieh, Lebanese Democratic Party leader MP Talal Arslan, Syrian Social Nationalist Party MP Asaad Hardan, Change and Reform bloc MP Hagop Pakradounian, Minister of State Michel Pharaon, Economy Minister Mohammad Safadi, Minister of State Jean Ogassapian, Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea and Professor Fayez Hajj Chahine.

Sleiman will call on the committee to meet in Baabda on a date that will be disclosed at a later stage.

The last national dialogue session was held prior to the 2009 June parliamentary elections.
